LASIK, an acronym for Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, is a revolutionary surgical technique that utilises a laser to reshape the cornea, thereby correcting refractive errors and providing a clearer, more focused vision. This procedure is meticulously performed by our skilled team of eye specialists, led by the esteemed Dr. Matthew Green.

We understand the importance of precise vision correction tailored to your unique needs. LASIK is a proven method for addressing a range of visual impairments, including near-sightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. The procedure involves reshaping the cornea to optimise its focusing power, ultimately reducing or eliminating the need for glasses or contact lenses.

Procedure:

Before the procedure, anesthetic eye drops are carefully administrated to your eye (or eyes), these drops contain a numbing agent so that you don’t feel anything but light pressure during the entire procedure.

A Femtosecond laser, is employed to delicately create a flap in the outermost layer of the cornea. Once the corneal flap is gently lifted, the next step involves the application of an excimer laser to meticulously reshape the patient’s corneal tissue. This well-established LASIK method is suitable for individuals dealing with near-sightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism.

Laser Refractive Surgery, specifically Advanced Surface Laser Ablation (ASLA), is a cutting-edge procedure designed to redefine your vision with precision.

ASLA, also known as PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy), utilises the power of an excimer laser to reshape the cornea directly onto the collagen surface. This non-invasive ophthalmology procedure is a highly effective solution for correcting various refractive errors, including near-sightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

Procedure:

To ensure a comfortable experience, anesthetic eye drops are carefully administered to the eye (or eyes) before commencing the procedure. Subsequently, the outer layer of the cornea, known as the epithelium, is gently removed using a softening agent. Once this initial layer is delicately lifted, the excimer laser takes center stage, meticulously reshaping the cornea to enhance your vision clarity.

Following the laser treatment, a soft contact lens is placed over the cornea to provide protection during the regeneration of the epithelium. This protective lens remains in position for one week, requiring no daily maintenance. During your post-operative visit, our skilled surgeon will adeptly remove the contact lens, ensuring a smooth and seamless recovery process. At Precision Vision by Dr Green, we prioritise your comfort and well-being at every stage of your journey to clearer vision.

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is a sophisticated vision correction surgery that elevates your visual experience by replacing the natural lens within the eye. This cutting-edge procedure utilises ultrasound technology to delicately remove the existing lens, paving the way for a customised intraocular lens (IOL) perfectly shaped and sized for your eye.

Procedure:

During the Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) procedure, the surgeon initiates the process by administering numbing eye drops to ensure your comfort. Following this, a small opening, known as a capsulorhexis, is carefully created in your eye to access the natural lens. Using an ultrasound probe, the surgeon skillfully breaks up and removes the cloudy fragments of the natural lens. Once the removal is complete, a specially tailored Intraocular Lens (IOL) is inserted into the eye, designed to replace the extracted lens accurately. As the IOL settles inside the eye, it gracefully unfolds into its designated position, optimising your vision and contributing to the overall success of the procedure.

Supplementary Intraocular Lens Insertion provides advanced refractive solutions, such as the Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL). The ICL is a remarkable and thin clear lens, comparable to a contact lens in function but with a surgical implantation approach.

Precision Vision by Dr Green and his team seamlessly integrate the ICL into the eye, where it becomes an integral part of enhancing your vision. Unlike traditional contact lenses, the ICL is surgically implanted, ensuring it remains in place without the need for daily maintenance. Remarkably, the ICL can be removed if necessary, providing flexibility and adaptability.
